Help Your Residents Green Up

Water is often an included utility for residents, meaning the apartment community flips the bill for water use.  Because they are not paying for it and aren't faced with the expense, many residents may not think about water conservation. 

So instead of reminding them how the owners have to pay for their water waste, why not remind them how great it is to be green?

Here is a great way to help them start thinking about their impact on the environment due to water waste - National Geographic's Water Footprint Calculator.   Email or provide this link to residents and let them know your community is working toward reducing overall water waste.  Post signs explaining why the grass is brown if you have cut back on irrigation.  Stick a banner in the laundry room that reads, "Save water by doing full loads" and show your community's commitment to the environment.  And it doesn't hurt the bottom line that being green often saves green.
