Appreciate and Recognize Your Maintenance

MR_Short_s1
Everyone on your on-site teams is deserving of appreciation; however, it is maintenance who is often overlooked.  While leasing teams may be awarded bonuses for doing well at their job and managers are often adorned with awards and honors for strong performance, it is the unsung heroes of maintenance who are often left behind in the recognition department.

Who is it that awakes at 2:00 am to go to work and address a bathtub backing up with sewage in a resident's home? Who is it that gets to shovel hundreds of pounds of ice and snow from every sidewalk during a frigid snowstorm? Who weathers 110 degree heat indexes to hand out renewal notices, work on air conditioners and make sure the grounds are immaculate?  Yes, it is maintenance. Their jobs are typically the most strenuous, most stressful, and definitely a key factor in whether customers enjoy their apartment homes and eventually renew.

It is because of this unwavering commitment to their communities and their residents that Grace Hill has decided to host a Maintenance Appreciation Month during August. We feel maintenance is deserving of a recognition period to call their own and we are hoping you will join in on this month-long celebration designed to bestow accolades and appreciation on multifamily maintenance teams.

You can visit gracehill.com each day to see tips on how to appreciate maintenance teams, as well as view our Maintenance Rock Star of the day.  We'll be hosting an OnAir episode focused on maintenance and maintenance careers and offering up free content meant to draw attention to the need for improved maintenance recognition.  If you would like to start your own celebration, you can visit our Maintenance Rocks storefront powered by On Sale Promos.  http://gracehill.onsalepromos.com/  Here you'll be able to order one or dozens of a product designed to show appreciation to your maintenance team.  We are not making a profit on these items and simply wanted to provide a source for products that enabled interested companies to purchase Maintenance Rocks items with no minimums, allowing multifamily operators to easily and affordably start up their own Maintenance Appreciation Month.

Whether your participation is small or large, we hope you take a moment in August to give thanks to your maintenance teams for all they do. Everyone likes to be appreciated.

Maintenance workers are definitely the least appreciated workers around. Its hard stuff, and no one seems to understand it.
